04 / The person behind the program
Built on Experience
I'm Peter Zheng, founder of the Restaurant Accelerator.
Having opened five businesses myself, I understand the excitement of turning an idea into a business and the financial risks and difficult decisions that come with it. A great concept alone isn't enough. You need realistic numbers, a clear plan, and a solid understanding of what it will take to make the business work.
I believe aspiring restaurant owners deserve more than a good idea and a leap of faith. They deserve a clear understanding of what they're getting into before making one of the biggest financial commitments of their lives. That's why I built the Restaurant Accelerator: to help turn restaurant ideas into well-planned ventures with realistic expectations, thoughtful preparation, and a clear path forward.
I'm here to help you ask the right questions, make informed decisions, and build a stronger foundation before opening your doors.
05 / Questions, answered
A few things to know.
What is the Accelerator?
A personalized program to evaluate your restaurant concept, model the economics, and assist you through opening. It combines analysis, working sessions, a launch roadmap, and practical guidance to help you build a stronger foundation for long-term success. It is not a video course, franchise opportunity, investment fund, or business loan.
Who can apply?
Aspiring independent restaurant owners with a defined concept, a realistic investment budget or credible funding plan, and an intended opening in approximately 6–12 months. We review each application for fit before discussing enrollment.
Is the application free?
Yes. The application and initial fit assessment are free, with no obligation to purchase. The founding-cohort program price is $4,500 if you and StrataLumen agree to proceed.
What happens after I apply?
StrataLumen reviews your concept, budget, and timeline, then contacts you by email to discuss fit and any follow-up questions. If appropriate, we confirm the scope, session schedule, and enrollment terms before you decide whether to proceed. Applying does not enroll you or charge you.
How long does it take?
The timeline varies from person to person. Support follows your progress toward opening rather than a fixed number of weeks. Before enrollment, we agree the scope of assistance, working sessions, schedule, and preparation around your needs.
What if the numbers don’t work?
That is a valuable finding before committing capital. We review the assumptions and discuss whether revising the concept, changing the scope, delaying launch, or deciding not to proceed is the more practical next step.
Will you help with financing?
It helps you understand funding requirements and prepare financial projections for financing discussions. It does not provide loans, arrange or guarantee financing, or replace a lender’s underwriting process.
Do you find locations or negotiate leases?
We help assess rent, lease costs, site-selection criteria, and location economics. Property searches, brokerage, lease negotiations, and legal review are outside the program scope.
Is profitability guaranteed?
No. The program provides analysis, modeling, and strategic guidance. Projections depend on assumptions and available information. Profitability, financing, a successful opening, and business success are not guaranteed; investment risk remains.
Does support continue until opening?
Yes. We help you put the launch plan into action and work through decisions as you move toward opening, within the scope agreed before enrollment. The program includes assistance through opening. Support after opening would be discussed separately.
